USA: ‘I am ready to come out of the woods’ – Clinton at Irish Women’s Society dinner
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton took to the stage at the celebration dinner of the Society of Irish Women in Scranton on St. Patrick’s Day, the death day of the Patron Saint of Ireland, Friday.

The former mining town of Scranton, located in the Coal Region in north Pennsylvania, is the hometown of Clinton’s father, Hug Rodham, where the former Secretary of State used to spend her Summers as a child.

The Society of Irish Women was found in 1998 by a group of ten women to recognise and honour the role of Irish Women in the United States. Ever since, it has been hosting an annual celebration dinner on St. Patrick’s Day.
